Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 21, 2026
Overview
SportsRec is a free sports excitement scoring app. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect (very little) and how we use it.
Data We Collect
No accounts or personal information. SportsRec does not require sign-up, login, or any personal information to use.
Push notification tokens. If you opt in to push notifications, we store a device token to deliver notifications. This token cannot identify you personally. You can revoke notifications at any time in your device settings.
Local preferences. Filter settings (e.g., "show untelevised games") are stored in your browser's localStorage on your device. We never transmit these to any server.
Data We Do Not Collect
- No analytics or tracking (no Google Analytics, no telemetry)
- No cookies (beyond standard web session cookies)
- No advertising or ad tracking
- No location data
- No personal identifiers (name, email, phone number)
Third-Party Services
SportsRec fetches publicly available sports data from ESPN's public APIs. These requests go directly from our server to ESPN — your device does not contact ESPN directly.
The app is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may collect standard server logs (IP address, request timestamps) as part of normal web hosting. See Vercel's Privacy Policy for details.
Children's Privacy
SportsRec does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. Since we collect no personal information from any user, there is no special risk to children.
Changes to This Policy
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted in the app.
