Question 1

What sports game should I watch tonight?

Accepted Answer

SportsRec answers exactly that question. Open the app, pick a sport (or see all), and every game on tonight's slate is ranked by a 0-100 excitement score. The top games are tagged Must-Watch (78+). Spoiler-free by default, so you can use it even for recorded games.

Question 2

What is SportsRec?

Accepted Answer

SportsRec is a sports excitement ranking app and a modern Thuuz alternative. It scores every game 0-100 based on how worth watching it is, combining matchup stakes with in-game drama. Covers NBA, WNBA, men's and women's college basketball, UEFA Champions League, English Premier League, FIFA World Cup Qualifying, NFL, and college football. Free, spoiler-free, no account required.

Question 3

Is SportsRec a Thuuz alternative?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Thuuz Sports rated live games on a 0-100 excitement scale before Stats Perform acquired it and shut down the consumer app in 2021. SportsRec is built for the same audience and the same question (which game is worth watching?), but from scratch — with spoiler-free presentation, a basketball model grounded in win-probability curve analysis, and a separate soccer model built for how soccer actually works.

Question 4

What sports does SportsRec cover?

Accepted Answer

SportsRec covers men's and women's college basketball (every D-I game), the NBA and WNBA, the UEFA Champions League (league phase and knockouts with advancement odds), the English Premier League (with live title/qualification/relegation probability tracking), FIFA World Cup Qualifying across all six confederations, NFL, and college football. Basketball and soccer are the most deeply modeled sports.

Question 5

Does SportsRec cover soccer?

Accepted Answer

Yes. SportsRec supports the UEFA Champions League (both league phase and knockout rounds), the English Premier League (with live title-race, UCL qualification, Europa, and relegation probabilities), and FIFA World Cup Qualifying across Europe, South America, CONCACAF, Asia, Africa, and Oceania. Soccer uses its own scoring model built around stakes, advancement odds, and near-miss drama, because win probability the way basketball uses it doesn't work for soccer.

Question 6

Is SportsRec free?

Accepted Answer

Yes, SportsRec is completely free. You can use it in any browser or install it as an app on your phone. No account required.

Question 7

How does SportsRec decide which games to watch today?

Accepted Answer

Each game gets two scores blended together. Importance is the pre-game view — team quality, rankings, standings implications, rivalry, national TV, star matchups. Excitement is the post-game view — for basketball, the win-probability curve, lead changes, late-game tension, comeback magnitude. For soccer, a separate model captures how much each moment shifted the odds of winning or advancing, weighted by stakes. These combine into a single 0-100 score.

Question 8

What does Must-Watch mean?

Accepted Answer

Must-Watch games score 78 or higher out of 100. These are games with exceptional excitement, dramatic finishes, or elite matchups between top teams. Roughly 5-10% of games on a given day earn this tier.

Question 9

Does SportsRec show live scores?

Accepted Answer

SportsRec is spoiler-free by default. Scores are hidden until you choose to reveal them. You see the excitement tier (Must-Watch, Interesting, etc.) first, then choose when to see results — so you can watch recorded games without spoilers.

Question 10

What college basketball rankings does SportsRec use?

Accepted Answer

SportsRec uses analytics-based predictive rankings (accounting for strength of schedule, efficiency, and tempo) alongside the AP Top 25 poll. Both are used when scoring matchup importance for college basketball games.

Question 11

Can I install SportsRec as an app?

Accepted Answer

Yes. On iPhone, open sportsrec.app in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. On Android, Chrome will prompt you to install automatically. SportsRec is also available on the iOS App Store. All versions are free.
